Description: THE LAST PLAY AT GIANTS STADIUM. Carolina downs the ball to a chorus of Boos in the final play at Giants stadium ever. Sorry, the Jets don't count. They never did and in the new stadium they never will. When I first got the tickets it was 1972 and they played at Yankee stadium. 3 years at the Yale Bowl and one at Shea before Giants stadium opened. The Giants played 283 games here as of which I attended more than 240. In 1976 the season tickets cost me a couple hundred dollars. This year including "parking pass" they have run over two grand. In order to have the "right" to sit in the new stadium next season, I have to pay a "license fee" on top of a huge price increase for tickets. It has been a magical act that every year the price goes up and every year I somehow pull the money out of a hat. There are many good memories here and many ugly moments. There has been rain, wind, snow, blazing heat, fights, laughs, blood, security, state troopers, spilled beers, stretchers carrying out people, people getting kicked out, thousands of high-fives and even some romance. The Giants left the way they came in: horrible losers. In a game for the playoffs and most especially THE FANS, they were routed by a team playing for pride. 41-9 pride won. By neondusk60.
