Jerry Reese still confident...Falcons, Week 11
Nov 18 2009, 9:44 AM EST | Post edited: Nov 18 2009, 9:57 AM EST
Giants G.M. Jerry Reese says he is atill confident the Giants can be a championship team despite their current four game losing streak. Reese pointed to the teams improved play in the 21-20 loss to San Diego two weeks ago. " I believe this is a playoff team. We have a great opportunity to right the ship, and I fully expect us to do that". The opportunity Reese speaks of is the losses by the Eagles and the Cowboys during the Giants bye week. The door is open for the Giants to still win this division and make the playoffs. News from injury front has an Aaron Ross sighting! AR will play this week, no decision on whether he'll start. Bye week allowed DE Justin Tuck to rest his shoulder, he'll play without a brace for first time since week twos Dallas game. On Atlanta side, RB Michael Turner will not play. After the bye week rankings for Giants has follows: NFL, Total Offense, 5th. 7th rushing, 14th passing. #1 defensively in NFL. 13th against the run, 2nd against the pass. NFC rankings, Offense, 3rd, 377 ypg, 138 rpg, 238 pyg. Defense, 1st. 274 ypg, 106 ypg rushing, 168 ypg passing. Betting line is listed has OFF. Vegas thinks it's too close to call. Giants win this week! Do you find this valuable?

Building on that theory, there is little doubt that with a weeks rest, and a healthy Boley, Canty and Ross, our defense will be upgraded talent wise. Now if KG remembers what a no huddle is, empty back field set is, makes the decision to get Nicks more looks, throws a bubble screen or two to Moss, change the snap count here and there and our QB gets back to finding the matchups that favor BLUE and getting the ball to them, we could make a playoff run indeed. I sincerely want to see NYG play as though they KNOW they can win as opposed to I hope something good happens and we win. In the immortal word's of John Belushi getting ready to lead Delta House on a mission to wreak some havok on Greggy, Neitemeyer and his boys......."LET'S DO IT" !!!! Do you find this valuable?

Boley's quickness off the edge reminds be just "a bit" of a guy who wore #56 for Big Blue. I look for him to have a big game vs. his former comrades. Sheridan has more options with blitz/stunt packages with a healthy Boley on the field and I cannot wait to see what the behemoth Canty can do as he eases into football mode! OK, we got the kinks out (no den, not Lola la la la la Lola) LOL, now let's see if we can play with the big boys......... Do you find this valuable?

Speaking of pass rushing LBers, news out of Giants camp this week has rookie LBer Sintim in line for more playing time on a rotation with Clark. Idea is for Sintim to rush the passer more. Spread today is Giants -6.5! Sporting News mock draft has Giants in draft position 22, which would be a playoff contender spot, and taking S Taylor Mays from USC. Absolute no brainer, just hope he's still available. It's all subjective right now, but very nice thought! Thanks Gmen-11, I'll have that godforsaken song in my head rest of day! Go Giants! No Michael Turner at RB, QB Matt Ryan has more interceptions this year than all of last season and a weak Falcons secondary:

Atlanta's front 7 is good but they have no second WR and RB Michael Turner is out for the Falcons:

Time to get the Giants running game going but they must have major balance with the throw, Atlanta's secondary is weak and that's the way the NFL rolls. No early New York turnovers either, take care of the ball!

I agree with gmen...they have to know they can win and they have not been playing that way. Hopefully they will get what we do..they ARE winners and WILL play as such. Do you find this valuable?

I'm pretty sure the Giants knew they could win the last couple of weeks. Knowing is one thing, actually doing it, has been the problem has of late. Assume and ...Recent history has the Falcons defense suspect against pass and run. The last two games they got beat by slant routes and short passes. Giants need to establish run, CAPITALIZE offensively when in the green zone and make defensive plays when opponents get inside the red zone. Win the turnover battle! The Giants are still favored by 6.5 today. I expect the Giants to roll Atlanta this week. Do you find this valuable?

Must win? Here are 3 keys to the Game:
http://history.giants.com/video/8193009/Giants%27+Full+Roster+-+New+York+Post
1) One-dimensional Falcons 2) Feed The Beast 3) Big Plays
Sounds like a Giants winning analysis!

RB Danny Ware to take over 3rd down duties exclusively. Taking some pressure off of Jacobs and Bradshaw. Change due to Bradshaw's lack of blocking in the passing game. ( see Jacobs frustrated! post) Let's see if he gets on the field on Sunday! Michael Strahan watched todays practice and delivered impromptu, motivational speach. Do you find this valuable?

After stating yesterday that everyone was finally healthy and practicing, MLB Antonio Pierce is out indefinately with a bulging disc in his neck. LBers Chase Blackburn and Jonathon Goff will play in his spot. Do you find this valuable?

It's a win, an ugly one, but a win nonetheless! Eli career passing yd game, passing Kerry Collins for #2 all-time. I thought he played well, certainly better than "bad" Eli. Manningham and Boss had great game! Running game ineffective. O-line should be embarrassed. Defense played well for most of game, still can't finish. D-coordinator did'nt do anything to silence the critics. Tynes...maddening! Hixon seems to have been answer to return game problems. It's a win...We'll take it! Do you find this valuable?

Hats off to Eli (cheering and applause) for carrying NYG when running game and defense could not! 394 yards is more than respectable. The defense continues to underachieve but I echo Den's sentiment.....a win is a win in the NFL!!! Let us prepare to "carve up" some horse meat on Thanksgiving.....sorry Willllllllbur! Happy day of thanks to all..... Do you find this valuable?

Once again you begin my day with a chuckle gmen. I only saw portions of play on laptop, so I can not say much but a win feels good. I did hear Blackburn seems to be more comfortable than in the past, but letting a not so great offense walk up the field time after time??? Hope superbowl Eli sticks around, seems like Eli and kids want to win. Go Blue!
