I think I am more upset about this game than any other yet...

Well, I am sure everyone is still in shock. What a horrible ending to the game. Despite the overage of penalties and mis-steps, and despite Lawrence Tynes' dumb-ass move, it was pretty damn exciting in the 3rd during a few of those drives - looking like the Giants are supposed to look. Eli was on the ball. Steve, Mario, Nicks, BJ, Ahmad, Boss; some nice play by the Dee from Osi, Tuck, Bruce Johnson and Thomas.

And then... that horrible final SD drive. I blame it on Bill Sheridan for not keeping the communication together on the Dee to rally and close it off. And then to rub salt in our wounds - DALLAS goes on to beat the Eagles. What a HORRIBLE football day! I need a break.

Exact opposite, numb would best describe my mood today. Last 3 weeks were various levels of anger and disgust, I've peaked out. Wasn't accomplishing anything! It is my own fault, I allowed levels of expectation to exceed my levels of disappointment. At least now I have no expectations for remainder of season! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Unbelievable loss. You are right where is Spags when we need him. The defense especially the secondary seems to keep missing thire coverage. Sheridan has to take the blame he cannot coach the defense and he never makes adjustments. Also the holding play on C Snee really hurt, if they score a td there the game is over. Tynes I hold my breath even when he tries a extra point. That missed fg also cost us the game. O line and D line played pretty good it is the secondary that seems lost. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

LOL - I hold my breath too - every single time he kicks! Amazing we can't be sure an extra point is going to go through.

What kills me is this is SUCH a talented team that generally does play as one team. Coaching staff needs to fix this. Lets see what the bye has in store.

Hopefully the bye will open a can of whoop a*#, no whoop ASS and this team will get it back together. My 15 soccer playing daughter has better aim than Tynes. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Major dissappointment is not the only phrase that comes to my mind. Gilbride blew it on that last drive inside the 20, yeah Snee's penelty didn't help-but you gotta go for it on 4th down there. Win the game right there. If you miss look, at how much further the SD team has to move the ball. The 3 points only prevented the tie. They must have known, or should have, that the math says loss if they (SD) score the TD. Coughlin, and Sheridan counted on the D getting that last stop. I would never have, Rivers and SD have won enopugh games with 2 mins left. They should have also realised that the O probably wasn't going to get the ball back. Granted, I thought the D stepped it up alot, over their play from the first half, yet the Coachs could have managed the 4th qtr. ALOT better. I put this one on BOTH Sheridan and Gilbride. Dissappointed, no....freakin' pissed off....YES.!! Winning 7 straight to get to 12-4...I don't know....does 10-6 get us into the wild-card...Don't think so as we have lost to 2 key NFC teams now. We need to win out our NFC games to have a chance of anything just to stay in the hunt. This bye week better help us shake off this losing streak, or our season is over like Washingtons. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Quotes from Coach Coughlin, "Yeah, we should have won the game...". "I'm not exonerating anyone of anything, including myself. I'm saying I'm at fault and I should have been able to find a way for us to win. That's just the way I feel about it. No one feels any worse than I do. Has I go through it, I'm not going to blame anyone. We'll try to make corrections so we don't have to see that again." Buck stops at the head coach, I'm not blaming the OC or the DC anymore! This is not the Redskins, Head Coach has final say! SUCH a talented team?! Maybe, maybe not, talk is cheap, hype doesn't win the game on the field. Perhaps we should send a memo to the rest of the schedule and remind them, that the Giants on paper are better than them, Type slowly so they'll all be able to understand! Listen to this post game press conference:
http://history.giants.com/video/8088246/Tom+Coughlin+%26+Eli+Manning+Press+Conference+After+Loss+Against+the+Chargers
Coach Coughlin is dialed in. The Giants went for 3 points and not 6 to ultimately give the Chargers a last chance, he might want to take that decision back, however, the D stepped up the 2 possesions before the final game winning drive by superstar QB Phillip Rivers. The special teams mistakes and player penalties at critical moments are game killers.

The Chargers might very well win the AFC West. The Cards are for real contenders and so are the Saints. The Eagles game (World Series weekend) in Philly got away from Big Blue about the 2 minute warning of the 1st half after overcoming Eli's big pick early in the game. Playing this kind of tough schedule over the last 4 games might be a blessing in disguise moving forward, think positive.

Shock is not the word... I am surrounded by Cowboys fans and I never hear the end of it. My only consolation is that we beat them in their inaugural home opener and that Spags is hurting in St. Louis. Our secondary needs work and we need to refine our red zone drills. sigh. Did your really call Rivers a Superstar? He dosen't even get that kind of love out here in Diego! The cards as you called them are a 50/50 team you never know which one is going to show up! If the Giants can get thier line to hold and Eli to throw to the fastest WR (Moss) we could actually spread the field and get something going. Then our our runnign attack won't be so predictable.
