Bold Prediction...Eagles!?!

Eagles President Joe Banner proclaimed yesterday that the Eagles have the best talent in the league and that he see's no reason why they(Eagles) should'nt be favored to win it all... Do you find this valuable?

thanks Den. why wouldn't he think and say that, he's the owner? i would want an owner who thinks this way too. to say it out loud though, that might have crossed the line. players, not owners or coaches, play the game so it's fun to talk about but in the 4th quarter when McNabb goes down for the 5th sack, quotes like these should be far, far from a players game focus. the post game press conference is another story, that's when Banner gets his public words tossed back in his face by some respectful but aimed NY Giant quotes!! Joe Banner is the GM/President of the Eagles.Jeffery Lirie is the owner.Either way it is still a bold statement to make and a slippery slope to place your QB and HC on this early. Do you find this valuable?

Hope that "Banner" has been viewed and re-viewed by NYG players. It is fitting that the game that will serve as a litmus test for where we are mid season is the Eagirls. Motivation should not be an issue for Big Blue. This contest should bring out the best in us and it will be interesting to gauge what our BEST is! Do you find this valuable?

What else is the man going to say. If you look at the nfc east the last couple of weeks there is no one running away with the division including the eagles who lost to the raiders. I think the giants will put it all together and win this game even in Philly. It is about time for the giants to do there talking on the field. Do you find this valuable?

"What else is the man going to say. "
Do you think the Bucs, Raiders, Chiefs, Browns, & Bills Presidents say that about their club?

Bucs,Chiefs, and Browns presidents probably knew the fates of their teams before the season started. Raiders and Bills owners/presidents are still living vicariously through past success's, in between bouts of dementia. Really not a fair comparison. I did see this week where the GM of the Redskins stated that he believed the Redskins were talented enough to make the playoffs. Gm's all think they have assembled a championship quality team, ask any of them and they'll tell you that. Aren't many 'employed for long' GM's admitting that they haven't a clue. Had Joe Banner forseen the injuries that would plague the Eagles he might not have been so brash, but given the moment he did his job. Do you find this valuable?

The players play, the coaches coach, and the GM's speculate. What else would you expect from ANY NFL GM? Less then that train of thought would be doing a disservice to their respective clubs. Remeber this, the season starts way before the opening kick-off. Thats when the GM's/VP's do THEIR work. If they feel they have assembled the "Best Talent" they drafted/traded for, then they deserve to say that. It is during the season that they fortunately/unfortunately get to see the pay-off for all the hard work they put in. When the players fail as a team, it is always the coaches fault. When the coach fails it is always the GM's fault. When the GM fails it is always the fans and players who suffer. It is imperative in the Modern NFL to have a GM who knows the game, understands the risks, knows the math, and has the budget. For a GM, those things are the building blocks for success. I can talk about many GM's who are considered good or great, yet the teams they assembled didn't amount to much. Additionally, I like the moves that Jerry has made for the Giants. He made some bold moves in the draft, and at the free-agent table as well. Keep up the Good Work Jerry! Do you find this valuable?
