Now that the season is over, management is beginning the evaluations. I think it would be fun for the fans to do our own. First off, IMHO, I don't think we are "years away" from being right back in the thick of things. I think with a few changes and a little luck, we can be right back at the top next year. With that said, I'm going to start off with my outline for fixing the Giants. They have already fired DC Bill Sheridan, so that knocks #1 off my list. Here we go:
1.)Fire Bill Sheridan. (Check) Bring in either a proven commodity like Dick Jauron, or a young, aggressive, high-energy guy like Spags was. A guy who will be over on the sidelines hudled up with the players on the bench DURING the game making adjustments like Spags always was. 2.) We need an IMPACT linebacker. Not a guy drafted in the third round. To me, this is a GLARING weakness. We have not had a guy that teams feared or had to gameplan for since LT. Closest guy was Armstead. We need to either trade up and draft Brandon Spikes (FL), or sign a big free agent. My gut tells me that we need to draft this player. All of the Giants true LEADERS come from the draft and are lifelong Giants. 3.) We need a bonafide left Tackle. Deihl has done an admirable job, but I just dont think hes a LT. McKenzie was decent for a couple years, but he is older, getting slower and injured more. Again depending on who's available in free-agency and what we do in the draft. My gut tells me we need a veteran here if you want to improve quickly. Can't have a rookie protecting Manning's blind side. Moving Deihl to RT would strengthen the entire line. To be continued...

Nfl.com rumors. Cofield and Robbins will both be back. So will OSI. Mock draft still has Giants taking LB, add Texas Sergio Kindle (BEAST!) to the discussion. Because of uncapped year and no cap penalty, rumor that Brandon Jacobs and his 13.2 million dollar contract could be dumped! Among others. Just rumors people, just rumors!

@ all<, http://erniepalladinosgiantsbeat.blogspot.com/ reports that the newly married Aaron Ross is happier than ever, healthier painfree hamstrings too and running on the beach while on his honeymoon in the Middle East. See what a good woman can accomplish! Ha Ha
Also mentioned that Brandon Jacobs, recovering from a knee scope, will not be in attendance when the voluntary offseason conditioning program starts Monday, but only because his wife is due to give birth to his son today. And Kenny Phillips will split his time between the program and Miami, where he will continue his rehab of microfracture knee surgery. The rest of the guys are expected to show up, even though the program is technically voluntary. {Can you believe its that time already....YES!}

he was before my time as a football player but family members tell me that Merlin Olsen was one of the best DL & people to ever play the game & position. Google search showed he made the Pro Bowl 14 out of 15 seasons! Described by teammates as a tough but gentle giant.............thought a great ambassador of the nfl deserved a shout out even if he was not part of big Blue........may he rest in peace!

FOR A PRICE....How bogus is that? They send out info to some lame-o site and ask for (what some may consider to be) ridiculous amounts of money. Touting themselves as the "Offical NYG Fan Club" yet their url is:http://www.giantsvip.com/ ....and the only site link is buried way at the bottom to GIANTS.COM. I think this is a rip-off for all Serious Giants Fans. Their asking at the least (free, for a VERY Limited) membership...and $29.95...49.95 for "VIP" staus...and $29.95 for their Junior Fan club !! $5.00 if you lose your Card...!! If you GIANTS FANS want my advice...do what I did...join @ the free level...grab the cheesy give-away then come back to post all you want here!! The only real link they have just brings you back to the "Official NYG Fan Site" which in essence is this one!! BUYER BEWARE!!

I have been listening to Osi yesterday and today (2/4/10) saying that if he does not start this year he does not want to play for the Giants. Then today he was on the Fan and Osi said that he hopes to be with the giants this year. Two things to discuss, first of all he has not played that well this past year but he was also coming off of a injury. I think with time he will get back to his better form. The other item is Osi should not talk about these things in the media it only complicates the situation. Osi should get ready for practice and camp and improve on last years performance.

Alas, like this season, the fun is over Giant fans. My employer Wetpaint is eliminating the "Moderator" position so I'm a free agent looking for work. If you know of a good fit, let me know. Thanks in advance.
Managing the Giants Historical wiki was a tremendous opportunity. I loved it. Adding over 750 videos to help document the NY Giants NFL History and 2009 Season has been my legacy to you the fans and to the New York Giants. http://history.giants.com/videos I would like to continue in 2010 with the Giants so should there be any future interest in my services as an 'independent contractor' or otherwise, please let me know. Go Giants!!

Once upon a time & long ago, I always thought if I were to pick a QB, without knowing who/what the supporting cast would be, it would be John Elway, the fiery flame thrower who could bring his team back from defeat, even when it seemed impossible; the warrior QB, who could create when the pocket collapsed and make a defense pay for being good pass rushers. Fast forward to 2009 and if you asked me today, I'd have to reply, "give me Manning"; Peyton Manning! (I'm beginning to appreciate Eli, but ....) LOL Peyton is only 33 yoa and has already amassed ( 9 ) 4000 yard passing seasons and the only 2 seasons he failed to accumulate that total, he had 3700+ yards!!! He has over 46,000 yards and 336 TD's against only 166 INT's. Me thinks that when PM decides to hang up the spikes for the last time and I do hope he does not seek out Brett Favre for advice, he may very well be considered the GREATEST QB of all time!!! True, he had Marvin Harrison and still has Reggie Wayne, but Marv is gone, as is Edgerin James (The U) and Peyton has not missed a beat! It is not just the unmatched yearly yardage, but has Professional Football ever witnessed a signal caller with a better command of an offense? With all due respect to Johnny U., Danny Marino, John Elway, Joe Montana, Bart Starr, Otto Graham, Fran Tarkenton, Brett Favre, Terry Bradshaw, YA Tittle, Roger Staubach, Steve Young and of course Danny Kannell, (LOL) , IF the elder Manning continues to play even at 85% of what we have come to expect from him for the next several years, it will be difficult to argue against him deserving that Title. I know this topic is off the color Blue, but what is the consensus among Big Blue faithful?
