I think these early shots really remind us about what is missed so much in these days of multi million dollar contracts and endorsement deals. The guys that originally played this game were tough as nails, gritty, and ferocious competitors. Pre-madonnas like Plax, T.O and many others wouldve lasted about 30 seconds. It wasnt abnormal to make a block or tackle and turn around to get a punch in the face.

On a lighter note, I remember one story my uncle told me about playing in my Gradfather's old Giants uniform when he was kid. He says he played in it until it fell apart and was thrown away....imagine! These days a game worn jersey is worth a mint! He also told my uncle that walking onto the field in the polo grounds in front of 25,000 or 30,000 fans was an absolutely surreal experience. I bet.
