The book is 160 pages long, and although there are many historical errors regarding the early development of professional football, the photographs of the teams are priceless. One photograph is of the 1927 Giants

The book was promoted with advertisements in the Giants' game programs. It came in hardcover and softcover and sold well enough for an update to be published in 1939. The additional player and team photos included the 1935 Giants, which March labled as the Gum Shoe Champions of 1934. The 1934 Giants won their title by beating the Bears on the frozen-solid field at the Polo Grounds. Because the Giants wore basketball shoes in the second half, that game has come to be known as the Sneakers Game. Can you find the five future members of the Hall of Fame in this photo?

My Kind of Football

The next book to give a history of the New York Giants came in 1952 and was written by then Giants coach Steve Owen. It was called "My Kind of Football" and was dedicated "to all those who have worn the Giants' uniform and to all those who have played against them."

The Story of Pro Football
In 1953, Howard Roberts, a sportswriter for the Chicago Daily News, wrote “The Story of Pro Football.” The Giants get plenty of coverage, and from each NFL team Roberts picks those he thinks deserve a spot in a future Pro Football Hall of Fame – which would not come into existence for another decade. From the Giants Roberts picked Tuffy Leemans, Mel Hein, Steve Owen, Tim Mara, Len Younce, Ray Flaherty, Ed Danowski, Ken Strong, and Ward Cuff – and each was pictured in the book.

New York Giants
In 1960, Don Smith, then in charge of Giants' publicity, wrote a history of the team entitled simply "New York Giants." Smith included some historical photos, including the one below of future Giant Hap Moran, then playing for the NFL Champion Frankford Yellow Jackets, running with the ball in the Polo Grounds. Smith also pictured some of the players he would put in an all-time all-star line up -
