After seeing the top10 alltime QB contraversies list on the NFL network, I thought I would make a top five alltime Giants list for us all to debate: #1 Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers. Did The Giants get or give away? #2 Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler. May have been Coach Ray Handleys biggest misstep. #3 Phil Simms and Mark Brunner. Parcells know best! #4 Charley Conerly and Y.A.Tittle. Not really much of a contraversy, Conerly in waning years and Tittle in his prime. Both took turns in Conerlys last season, whomever started the other finished, not sure best idea. #5 Danny Kanell and Kent Graham. !?. Honorable mention: Dave Brown and Danny Kanell.

Kevin Boss is a BIG lethal target/weapon that brings back fond memories of another #89 that Eli and the Giants need to use more this week imo to win this game. I found a clip of Chargers exploiting Eagles blitz tendencies with their star TE. I hope NYG staff have seen it! We cannot keep playing these blitz happy Eagle defense with the same formations/plays they've seen and with our immobile QB who has difficult time finding open receivers to begin with. Matchups and execution 95% of the game. Have we been too quick to abandon our 2 back formations and go to "spread" and give away the element of surprise? Like to hear what you all think. Would also LOVE to see Beckham and even Moss lined up in H-back spot from time to time, just to make Philly "accountable" for their abilities. Our defense will play well this week but figure Philly for a few big plays along the way; too many big play guys with speed to completely stop imo. Our offense MUST dictate the flow of this game imo and hopefully Hixon will provide a spark or two. We know the crowd, Lilly, Rula & blue Chocolate phone will do their part! LOL

We all remember Mark Bavaro . Bavaro made an immediate impact as a rookie out of Notre Dame , the 100th pick out of the fourth rd! When starting tight end Jeke Mowatt went down to a season ending injury prior to the start of the 1985 season , Bavaro , who was known primarily for his blocking ability , stepped in and finished the season with 37 receptions for 511 yards and 4 touchdowns , earning him NFL All- Rookie Team status . Who could forget his 12 receptions (A team record) against Cincinnati on October 13th ,1985 on a day which saw Phil Simms pass for over 500 yards! Bavaro was the consummate “Been there done that “ professional , rarely seen in these days of the “look at what I did” showboating of the modern day NFL. When Bavaro caught the football , a defenders pain was imminent . Bavaro ran , after the catch , with an intensity and down right ferocity that belied his off - field demeanor , yet matched his physique . Nicknamed Rambo , Mark Bavaro epitomized the word professional ! Whenever Bavaro scored a TD , he would genuflect , make the sign of the cross ,then walk calmly to the ref and hand him the ball. There was no beating of his chest or end -zone theatrics . Look up the words pride and dignity and you will see his chiseled face . I will never forget that December Monday night in 1986 against the 49ers , when Bavaro caught a pass over the middle from Phil Simms and carried several players including Ronnie Lott for nearly 20 yds on his back! To me , this has got to be one of the greatest plays in NFL history , certainly my favorite! A degenerative knee condition cut short this EXCEPTIONAL tight ends career , however , in my opinion , he is one of the greatest tight ends to have EVER played the game . He holds the Giants single – season record of 66 receptions including 1,001 yards and 4 touchdowns , breaking the team reception record of former tight end Bob Tucker who had 59 .

Manning to Manningham....TD! Manning to Manningham.....1st down! Are we witnessing the beginning of something special here? Will Eli to Mario evolve into a Peyton to Marvin jr.? Time will tell of course, but me thinks our passing game is starting to shape into a viable and dangerous unit. Teams will continue to game plan to stop our RB's IMO, until we establish that the NY Football Giants are not ONLY a running team, but can throw the rock too consistantly. The "other" Steve Smith is gaining ground on Steve Smith I; perhaps not as a constant deep threat but certainly as one of the best possession/slot receivers in the game today. Most of us said in the off season that teams would stack the LOS and that Eli and the kids would have to mature quickly and so it appears they have. l still have confidence in Hixon also, considering a year ago he was a very good kick off returner only. The jury is still out but an indictment is soon to handed down that S. Moss (the U....nder-achiever) may very well go down as a good practice player only. Me thinks he is on his last breath as a Jint. Now, let us get Barden in red zone formations, Beckum in the offense, our #3 RB healthy, as well as the rest of Big Blue and before you know it, NYG COULD very well get out of the blocks @ 7-0, when we face the Eagirls in the city of muggerly love in week 8 and there is NO reason to believe we cannot exact some revenge on those dirty and smelly birds.....One game at a time, I know, but this 2009 team has some talent and I am stoked. Here we go Giants HERE WE GO clap clap

The Giants have a rich history of solid Running Backs which goes back all the way back in time to Frank Gifford and beyond and includes the modern day NFL prototype RB, Brandon Jacobs!
Here is a well done video of Bradshaw that will get you pumped for this season!: http://history.giants.com/video/6785718/Ahmad+Bradshaw+Highlights Could this Giants 2009 RB corp be the best in Giants history by the end of this season? In terms of running attempts, yard per carry and rushing TD's they might!

Watch this 1st video clip of NY Giants starting TE Kevin Boss and be sure to finish the whole thing and see Darren Sproles hurdle the players in his funny commercial. Next, watch Boss hurdle an Eagle defender in 2007 and impress everyone including John Madden, the legendary color commentary TV anouncer, and Kevin's O-Line buddies! I'd say they modeled the Reebok Sproles commercial after Big Bounce Boss:

I am just putting this out for discussion. Since Amini Toomer is not with any team as of today should the Giants sign him to a one year contract to have a vetran receiver for Eli ?

NY Newsday reports that our #3 RB, Danny Ware is stepping up for Big Blue and attempting to increase his contributions to the team as a kick off returner and possibly a punt returner. Judging by his nice return vs the Bears last week, it appears as though he can help us in that area. Here is the link for those interested.
http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/giants/motivated-running-back-ware-to-try-returning-punts-for-giants-1.1400232 I am looking forward to tonight's game even though it is only pre season. For those who are not from NY, you'd be hard pressed to find a more ferocious rivalry than Jets vs Giants and for those planning on attending the contest, keep your head on a swivel, b/c you never know when and where the blitz is coming from.

Yes Andre Brown is lost for the year, but we will get an opportunity to see another potential RB winner, Patrick Allen from Oklahoma University. [NY Post excerpt.] The loss of rookie running back Andre Brown -- who went down late in Friday night's practice with a season-ending ruptured Achilles' tendon -- opens the door for another first-year player, Allen Patrick, a speedster from Oklahoma. Yeah, I feel like it's an opportunity knocking, it helped me better my chances, but at the same time that's one of our teammates we lost the other day," Patrick said yesterday. If the Giants keep four running backs (in addition to fullback Madison Hedgecock), Patrick's chances just improved. Brown, a fourth-round pick from North Carolina State, was going to make the team. Patrick, the back who replaced Adrian Peterson at Oklahoma, was slowed by an ankle injury with the Sooners and has already been signed and waived by the Ravens and Browns."I'm probably one of the fastest backs we got. I try to use that to my ability to go out there and contribute to the team," Patrick said. Will P.A. wind up being another tasty one of "Reeses Pieces", or the opposite; a back that 'll wind up as one of "Jerry's kids." Allen had an impressive 5.3 yards per carry in three seasons with the Sooners when he was healthy. We can never have too much speed in the backfield imo. Hope we get to see what he can bring Monday night. Have not heard alot of news about Danny Ware thus far. The 1st week of pre-season games is not yet completed and it is already very evident that DEPTH will be a huge factor in who reaches Miami in 2010.

On CBS Sportsline there is an article about who will be the Giants second wide receiver. They compare Nicks, Bardon, Hixon, and Moss. I think that although Moss has a good chance I think that they should use Hixon as the second receiver. I really cannot dismiss the others but it just seems Hixon is a good fit and will make some good catches for the Giants. Also I think that Eli is a little familiar with him.

So he wants to be traded? Why? Is it because he gets constant fines for not showing up to team meetings or practices? Or is it because the Giants frown on a player for shooting himself ? I think that contract and the constant reminder he caught the winning touchdown pass in the Superbowl has gone to his head. He sounds like the T.O. of the Giants. I think he is to much of a destraction to the G-men. He is a great player but has no respect for others on and off the field. I mean the man makes millions and he cant pay a contractor a $2500 bill and needs tobe brought to court or even failed to pay his taxes. Grow up Plax. We will see what 2009 brings and he is not wearing state prison greens hopefully he will be wearing Giants blue and be a team player.
