NY Giants defensive end Justin Tuck "day to day" with shoulder injury, coach Tom Coughlin says

Tom Coughlin is hoping Justin Tuck will be ready to play on Sunday against the Buccaneers. The Pro Bowl defensive end suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s victory over the Cowboys when he was tripped by offensive tackle Flozell Adams. Coughlin didn’t provide Tuck’s exact injury but said he’s “day to day” and that the injury is something that first occurred during Tuck’s time at Notre Dame, when it lingered through his junior season after he was hurt during spring practice. He did not miss a game that year. “That’s where the doctors go back to,” Coughlin said of the college injury. “It’s a matter of soreness and strength, soreness and strength. Who knows? Maybe he’ll end up wearing a harness, but that’s not a problem because we have a couple of guys doing that. He’s a little bit less sore today than he was yesterday, so hopefully that’s going to improve.”
Coughlin said that, while the injury dates back to Tuck’s college days, it’s not something that’s given him problems the past few years. “He really hasn’t had (problems),” Coughlin said. “The issue occurred the other night with the trip.” Asked what he thought about the trip, Coughlin replied, “What do you want me to think? It was a foul, a flagrant foul.”
The players who missed Sunday’s game – DE Chris Canty (calf) and CBs Aaron Ross (hamstring) and Aaron Ross (hamstring) – will not practice Wednesday, Coughlin said. WR Domenik Hixon (knee) also won’t practice after getting hurt against the Cowboys. Like Tuck, he’s “day to day.”

Flozell fined by NFL for that foul on Tuck. Second week in a row for Flozell with a flagrant foul and fines.
