The Giants and Jets will wait for the right partner and amount before selling the naming rights to their new $1.6 billion stadium in the NJ Meadowlands. Giants chief executive John Mara said Wed the teams have had recent negotiations with several companies. "I think it is more important to have the right deal, so if it means having to wait beyond the opening of the building, we'll do that," Mara said. "I don't think that will be the case. I think we will have something done before then. The teams were close to a deal last fall with Allianz that would have been worth an est $30 million annually. Negotiations, however, ended when it was announced that the German insurance Co. once had ties to the Nazis, a history that brought criticism from Jewish orgs, Holocaust survivors and football fans who said seeing the company's name on the stadium as a constant reminder of the Holocaust. The Giants on Wed announced a 15-yr agreement with Timex for the naming rights to their new training facility and corporate headquarters in the Meadowlands sports complex. Mara said that the teams have signed agreements for 3 of the stadium's 4 so-called "cornerstone partners." They will have exclusive naming rights to brand one of the four main entrances to the stadium. MetLife Inc., Verizon and Anheuser-Busch have agreed to be 3 of the cornerstone partners. Mara hopes to have a 4th before the end of the year. Mara said the new stadium hopes to have its 1st event in April, an NCAA lacrosse game (sweet!) The Giants have 1 yr left on their training camp deal at the Univ at Albany, N.Y. Mara said the team has not decided whether to return. The team might train at its new headquarters or split time between New Jersey and Albany, noting the 3 new grass fields at the New Jersey facility might not stand up if used for training camp.
Any idea on which Corporation might step in as Sponsor? How about a Ga$oline company, Chinese firm or Google.

Where you at Giants Stadium for any it's biggest games? Let us know how it went below!
Did you go to the opening game vs Dallas on October 10, 1976? Or maybe you made it to the largest crowd in Giants Stadium history vs Carolina January 8, 2006? Just maybe you attended the first Giants Stadium Play-off game vs San Francisco on Decemeber 28, 1985? How about being part of the 25,156 fans who watched the smallest non-strike game in Giants Stadium history vs St. Louis on December 4, 1983?

This Sunday evening will be the home opener for the Dallas Cowboys and their brand new stadium. Take a wild stadium tour with Cowboys RB Tashard Choice!:
http://history.giants.com/video/7470231/Tour+of+the+new+Cowboys+Stadium+with+Tashard+Choice No more Romo Romo and Jessica Simpson, they looked so happy. The stadium looks terrific too. Walking down the player entrance with Cowboy's owner Mr. Jerry Jones as an escort is priceless. Fun video TChoice23, thanks. Might we see back-up QB Jon Kitna (in the video) should Romo go down on Sunday. Hope the zillion dollar and big as an aircraft carrier Video screen in new Cowboys stadium is not an issue for the punters...

Yes, the new Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands has a partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to ensure it's the 'greenest' venue in sports and on the planet!:
http://history.giants.com/video/7420713/New%2C+Green%2C+Meadowlands+Stadium Mr. Mara (Giants co-owner) speaks the truth when they say that technology and the know-how exists to make better buildings. Mr. Johnson (Jets owner) hits it right when he says the 'Spirit' of the stadium wants to go green. Commissioner Goodell has an 'internal Green team' at the NFL. Governor Corizne, Senator Lautenberg and Congressman Rothman of New Jersey make some good 'Green points' such as; "50% of emissions come from older buildings." Big shout out to the New York Giants, NJ, the NFL and EPA for being 'Green' and leading the way to a better environment with the new Giants Stadium! |

I will offer my opinion.
Read an article in the newspaper yesterday which talked about the Yankees attendence issues this season. My Dad told me yesterday that front row seats cost $2,500 a piece! Your $20,000 per seat Giants license would by you access to 8 of these seats which is exactly the amount of regular season games in the NFL. You could either watch CC Sabathia pitch 8 times this season in front row or watch the Giants 8 NFL games from where you currently sit. For me it's a no-brainer. I would pick the Giants all day and all night and simply scalp a tik to a Yankee game out front for $5 and move down hopefully to front row, lol. Something to think about anyways... Any thoughts?

I asked a few people, and nobody seemed to think it was a big deal if I mentioned this here. I don't want to clutter this board up with this sort of stuff.
I have 4 sets (pairs) of tickets for games this year that I need to sell because my family is traveling. Tier 1, 30 yd line, visitor side. Excellent tickets. (worth $20k each on PSLs) Face value $95/per ticket and $20 for parking, so $210 per game. Pre-season: Other team Game time --Monday, 8/17 Carolina 8:15 pm --Saturday, 8/29 Jets 8:00 pm Regular season: --Sunday, 12/13 Philadelphia 8:20 pm (time subject to NFL change) --Sunday, 12/27 Carolina 1:00 pm (time subject to NFL change) Please email me on this board if you are interested. First come first served. A |

there are four of us who have 2 season tickets for the Giants. It took us about 23 years to get the tickets and now it looks like we might have to give up the seats. We have not received a notice about the cost of the psl for our seats buy it looks like at any price it will be too much for us to pay. I for one am not in agreement with having to pay a fee to purchase tickets to watch my team play football. I am a crazy fan like all of you but I hope some how we can keep out seats. I think especially with two teams playing in the stadium the giants could well afford not to charge the license fee and still make enough money to survive. This is my feeling and I hope most people would agree.
