I saw that the kid might be there in the second round, but putting the injury asides, he'll probably be gone by the time the GIANTS pick. Kipper has him going in the early second round.

@All< with 4 of the 6 backs on our roster dealing with the injury bug-surgery, do we need to draft a back next month? Montario Hardesty of Tennessee is an intriguing back that is flying under the radar somewhat. Any thoughts on where rb's are on our list of needs..............

Bruce Johnson is another guy I think that after developing, learning, watching; that he may become a solid CB. But not a starter. He's good enough to be nickel. or a Heavy Zone/Power Zone guy. But if you saw him tackle against a RB, he didn't have the feet, or position sometimes a CB needs to get squared up vs the ball carrier. His speed is great. And possibly great hands, but again just needs time to play and develope.

Alabama MLB Rolando McClain admitted at todays proday at The U of A that he has crohns disease. He has been receiving treatment for it since his freshman year of high school. Whether it will affect his draft stock will be seen. QB David Garrard of the Jaguars has same disease.

Former GM Phil Savage when told of McClain said his initial thought would be that it would not affect his draft position. He's still one of the top two or three MLBers available in first round. He did say he thought it a bit troubling that he waited this long to admit his disease, and that further research would be undertaken by teams interested. Should still go spots 10 through 20.

"By my standards, Derek Brown wasn't #1, because he didn't play enough to hurt the team. He was never a starter because he sat on the bench watching Bavaro play TE. Francis Peay (1966), on the other hand, did start every game in his rookie season and was terrible. He's my #1." @ jherling< not to be a kiljoy here but Mark Bavaro was already on to playing for another team {phil-clev} when Derek Brown was drafted in the first round.....so.......? furthermore I thought drafting a player and paying him first round benjamins was done because that pick was very likely to make the team better. How many te's or wr's are taken with the first pick anyway. The money he received could have gone to another player that could have helped the Giants right-so he did hurt the team directly by not producing and indirectly by wasting the pick. Brown started seven games his rookie season and was pathetic. Sorry but your facts and point of view are flawed here respectfully if you ask me.

So our 8-8 record will not leave us much room for top picks (Thank God on the one hand), yet we have some Glaring needs to fill on the D; in both the LB's and the Secondary. Lets post some insightful thoughts about the talent available, how much of an impact they can make, and what the chances for trading up are; as well as the Free Agent Market for delivering the impact player we need! My thoughts are that we should also look for some future OL guys as Karim is much older, and we have to guard against season ending injuries to our remaining starters.

When addressing the freeagent class and whether the Giants should or shouldnt sign someone, remember what I just posted in regards to the 30% rule. Dansby shouldnt have a problem getting within that and still being happy. Some other FA's might have a problem getting teams to frontload contracts with bonus money to meet their demands. With no quarantee of football 2011, how many teams will do that?

The NFL has decided, starting in 2010 to have the draft over three days.First round will be on Thursday,Rounds 2,3 on Friday,4-7 on Saturday. My personal initial response is that it sucks, terrible idea.I hate Prime time mini-series and now they've made their own.Has a member of a select few who watch wire to wire draft day coverage I'm very disappointed. The NFL in pursuit of almighty dollar!Goodell said the change was made to make the draft more accessible to fans.I say if it aint broke, don't fix it! Hate it!Absolutely hate it!

Alright I've had time to think about it,I'm over it now.I must confess I'm a little OCD and I don't take to change well.Upon further review, this will give us few(38 million people watched draft coverage last year!)obsessive Giants fans a chance to discuss the #1 pick and debate who too take next.Should be fun. This may cut into my beverage consumption on Friday night, however.Sacrifices must be made!Speaking of other league,I'm going to give it a shot, see what happens!
