mdrew1975 How To Fix The Giants (page: 1 2 3 4 5 ... last page) 153 Jan 19 2010, 1:47 PM EST by mdrew1975

Now that the season is over, management is beginning the evaluations. I think it would be fun for the fans to do our own. First off, IMHO, I don't think we are "years away" from being right back in the thick of things. I think with a few changes and a little luck, we can be right back at the top next year. With that said, I'm going to start off with my outline for fixing the Giants. They have already fired DC Bill Sheridan, so that knocks #1 off my list. Here we go:

1.)Fire Bill Sheridan. (Check) Bring in either a proven commodity like Dick Jauron, or a young, aggressive, high-energy guy like Spags was. A guy who will be over on the sidelines hudled up with the players on the bench DURING the game making adjustments like Spags always was.

2.) We need an IMPACT linebacker. Not a guy drafted in the third round. To me, this is a GLARING weakness. We have not had a guy that teams feared or had to gameplan for since LT. Closest guy was Armstead. We need to either trade up and draft Brandon Spikes (FL), or sign a big free agent. My gut tells me that we need to draft this player. All of the Giants true LEADERS come from the draft and are lifelong Giants.

3.) We need a bonafide left Tackle. Deihl has done an admirable job, but I just dont think hes a LT. McKenzie was decent for a couple years, but he is older, getting slower and injured more. Again depending on who's available in free-agency and what we do in the draft. My gut tells me we need a veteran here if you want to improve quickly. Can't have a rookie protecting Manning's blind side. Moving Deihl to RT would strengthen the entire line.

To be continued...

GManTor Bill Sheridan is Awful (page: 1 2 3 4 5 ... last page) 193 Jan 11 2010, 8:26 AM EST by Superstarzchef

The Giants D has been a joke this year, and Bill Sheridan can't hold Steve Spagnolo's jock strap when it comes to play calling and strategy. As a Giants fan their defensive coaching has been an embarrasment. I now understand why Osi Umenyoria had some conflict with Bill Sheridan, because Bill does not know how to coach and is not a leader. If you're going to make your pro bowl defensive end angry who has no history have having difficulty with coaches, obviously Bill Sheridan is the problem and upper management needs to understand that.

mdrew1975 NFL Playoffs 11 Jan 28 2010, 10:10 AM EST by mdrew1975

There seems to be a lack of quality games in this years playoffs. I'm sure like many of you, whether the Giants are in or not, I still enjoy watching the games. However so far this year I find myself leaving the room in the second or third quarter because the game is already decided. So far through 8 games, the AVERAGE margin of victory has been OVER 17 POINTS! The only two decent games have been Packers/Cardinals and Jets /Chargers. Jeez... if the Giants aren't in, at least give some GOOD football! On that note, hopefully the Conference Championships will be better. The Vikings and Saints both looked like they benefitted from the week off... could go either way. You got a cinderella story going on with the Jets (blah for Giants fans..lol). Colts answered the "resting players" question as they voided the shot at perfection to go healthy into the playoffs. Thought I'd start a thread for people to discuss the playoffs, who you're rooting for, and predictions. First off, I'm rooting for the Colts. I never bought the "route for your conference" deal... or especially your division. I hate Philly and Dallas, and ALWAYS root for them to lose. (THANKS, BRETT..LOL) I will say I thought it was cheap to run up the score there today- but I chuckled none the less. Alright, I'm rooting for the Colts because I like Peyton... and personally think he's the best QB of all-time. Another ring would would further cement his legacy- plus I don't think they have any players I really dislike.

Please pray for my friend's daughter lost in the rubble of a hotel in Haiti. I worked for 20 years with Lenny Crispinelli, and he is one of the classiest people I ever worked with.
